Red Hawk Valley

Q. Where did you move from, and how did you end up in the Red Hawk Valley neighborhood?

A. We moved from a condo just two blocks off the square in downtown Madison. We were on the market looking at many different houses when we visited a friend in Red Hawk Valley and decided to explore the option of building which led us to Heffron Homes.

Q. Could you explain what it is about the neighborhood that you enjoy, or what drew you to living in your particular neighborhood?

A. We love the proximity to neighbors while still feeling private and secluded in our backyard. It’s like the best of both worlds between neighborhood and country living. Not to mention the wonderful people in the neighborhood. We are thankful everyday as most neighborhoods are not as friendly, positive, creative or welcoming as Red Hawk!

Q. How do you spend time around the area?

A. We look forward to being more a part of the community but because of Covid-19 and a newborn we are mostly staying home and enjoying our beautiful house!

Q. Were there particular features or design elements that you were happy you added to your home?

A. We are extremely happy with the oversized windows and beams we added to our great room. Coupled with the large fireplace, it is such a welcoming and cozy space! We are also happy with the special dog bath we added to the garage for our very fluffy Bernese mountain dog and the heated floors in our master bath! Just to name a few!

Q. Were there any surprises when building a new home?

A. Our biggest surprise was how smooth and down right fun the process was! We received advice that it would be stressful and grueling and we experienced the exact opposite. We really appreciated the small touches of going with a custom builder ranging from extra advice when we asked to a specialized binder to organize all of warranties and important paperwork when we moved in.

Q. Obviously building a home is quite a process. Do you have advice for those who may be considering building a new home?

A. Ask questions and be open to advice. Trust experience and choose a builder that has your best interest, like Heffron Homes. Then once you gather information be decisive. Not only will things run smoother in the building process but you will be more stress free moving on to your next decision.
