Woodstone
Q. Where did you move from, and how did you end up in the Woodstone neighborhood?
A. We moved to Madison, WI. from Boston, MA. last summer due to Subhanjan's job. We rented an apartment in Middleton across form the Woodstone community. We loved the location and convenience of the area so much that we started looking at the Woodstone neighborhood for our future home. Coming from a big city we knew we wanted to live in a quiet neighborhood but did not want to give up the conveniences of the city. Woodstone gives us the best of both worlds!
Q. How do you spend time together, and with friends, around the area? Are you involved in the community?
A. Being new to Wisconsin, we are spending our time familiarizing with the state and all the activities available. We like to visit the Farmer's Market at the Capitol Square as well as take walks on the trails around the neighborhood. Currently we are enjoying home ownership as this is our first home! Sanbrita is an Optometrist practicing in Fitchburg and is an active member with Wisconsin Women Entrepreneurs, Dane Buy Local and the Fitchburg Chamber of Commerce.
Q. Were there any surprises with building and moving into a new home?
A. We were surprised at the smoothness and flexibility of the whole building process! When we first moved to Wisconsin, we went to a few open houses. We quickly realized that there was always something we didn't like about each house. Being able to build was convenient - we got exactly what we wanted, have it in the plans and see it created. Everybody has different taste, Heffron Homes allowed us to add and omit choices according to our lifestyle. It was thrilling to see the whole process step by step. We appreciate our house as a part of us since we saw it from conception to delivery!
Q. Are there particular features or design elements that you were happy incorporated into your new home?
A. We were able to custom build the flex room into a study. The great room was built according to our taste. We were also able to add lots of kitchen cabinets and an extra full bath on the first floor for future convenience. The location of our house allows for a lot of sun. We were able to add extra windows in each bedroom for extra natural lighting. The best part - we were able to do all this within our budget!
Q. Could you explain what it is about the Woodstone neighborhood that you enjoy?
A. We enjoy the family element of the neighborhood. There are always children playing in the streets in the afternoon. People take walks and enjoy the park nearby. It is a very open, nurturing and friendly place to live!
Q. If you were to offer advice about building a new home, what would it be?
A. Don't wait. The market is great! It is not at all stressful. You get the benefit of living in your dream home. That feeling is priceless!
Q. Any other thoughts or comments?
The team at Heffron Homes is devoted, knowledgeable and practical. We couldn't have asked for a better builder.
