Q. Where did you move from, and how did you end up in The Community of Bishops Bay?

A. We have been life long residents of Waunakee and joined Bishops Bay Country Club in 2006.  We had always thought it would be amazing to live on the course and when this opportunity presented itself we just couldn’t pass it up.  It was the best of both worlds as we were able to live on the course and still be in the Waunakee school district for our youngest daughter to finish High School.

Q. How do you spend time around the area? Are you involved in the community?

A. Our oldest daughter just graduated from UW Milwaukee and is back in town working in Middleton and our younger daughter will be a Senior at Waunakee High School.  We love spending time with the girls and watching our youngest play softball.  We also enjoy spending time with friends playing golf and pickleball, supporting Badger Football, dinners at local restaurants and traveling.

Q. Could you explain what it is about the neighborhood that you enjoy?

A. We had friends living in the neighborhood so that was a big draw.  The other was being able to live on the course which provides a beautiful view and privacy.  It’s also really fun and convenient to be able to take our cart to the club.

Q. Are there particular features or design elements that you are happy were incorporated into your new home?

A. We love the open concept we ended up with and our screen porch is our favorite room by far.

Q. Were there any surprises of building a new home?

A. We really didn’t run into any surprises.  Owning a Painting company has allowed us to be really familiar with the process and many of the subcontractors.  Maybe what was most surprising is that we were able to make all decisions pretty quickly and agreed on almost everything – except our trim color 😊.

Q. Did you have a favorite part of the building process?

A. I have to say that Heffron Homes made the process really easy.  Jaclyn was absolutely amazing to work with and really helped us to make sure we considered all aspects.

Q. If you could offer advice about building, what would it be?

A. Embrace the process and enjoy it.  I think it’s also important to listen to those with the expertise.  Dan, Jr. had great ideas that really added to our home.!
