Black Hawk Fields
Q. Where did you move from, and how did you end up in the Black Hawk Fields neighborhood?
A. We moved from a home outside of town right between Middleton and Cross Plains. While we loved our home, we wanted the opportunity to build our own home and live in an with a more established neighborhood.
Q. How do you spend time around the area? Are you involved in the community?
A. We are both new to the area so we have spent a lot of the last few months getting to know the area and trying out new places.
Q. Could you explain what it is about the neighborhood that you enjoy… or what drew you to living in your particular neighborhood?
A. We were looking for a place to build that was outside of Madison but still a reasonable drive to work, land for a good size backyard but wouldn’t break the bank. Blackhawk fields checked all of these boxes for us. We liked the feel of the neighborhood, the larger lot sizes, and the easy commute to work in Verona.
Q. Were there any surprises of building a new home?
A. So many decisions! We enjoyed the process of really getting to make the home the way we wanted. Jackie and Heff were willing to work with us to get to our vision and were a huge help in making sure everything fit together.
Q. Are there particular features or design elements that you are happy were incorporated into your new home?
A. We really love our great room. The beams and the fireplace were exactly what we were looking for. Our master bath also came out better than expected – it’s got a great spa-like feel! And we really love the wainscoting in our powder room – it came out great!
Q. If you could offer advice about building, what would it be?
A. Do lots of research & idea hunting, and pay attention to the small things, even if it means spending lots of hours reviewing faucets. :) We’re really happy with how everything came together and are still happy with the choices we made.
