HOMEOWNER SPOTLIGHT

Ed and Patrice

Q. Where did you move from, and how did you end up in the Kettle Creek Neighborhood of Verona?

A. We moved from the west side of Madison, from a home we had raised our family in for 33 years.  We were looking for a lot that was less work to take care of, preparing for the next stage of our lives….we moved from a home on over an acre to a new build on a quarter of an acre.

Q. How do you spend time around the area? Are you involved in the community?

A. We continue spending time doing the same things we did in the Madison neighborhood.  Our grandchildren live on the west side of Madison and this new house allows us to still be close enough to be active in their daily lives. We are enjoying getting to know Verona as residents.  The community here has been very welcoming.

Q. Could you explain what it is about the neighborhood that you enjoy… or what drew you to living in your particular neighborhood?

A. We liked the close proximity to Madison that Kettle Creek gave us along with the mature trees backing up to our property. We also appreciate the neighborhood having all ages of residents….empty nesters like ourselves and young families raising their children.  There is a great energy in the neighborhood.

Q. Were there any surprises of building a new home?

A. We had lived through an extensive remodeling of our last home but had never experienced building a new home from the ground up.  We found the experience of building with Heffron Homes totally enjoyable.  Dan, and Jaclyn, listened to our priorities for the new build and helped us bring those ideas to fruition. Every detail we had dreamed of came to life in the new home, thanks to Dan, Jaclyn, and their team.

Q. Are there particular features or design elements that you are happy were incorporated into your new home?

A. There are several details in our new home we had pictured from the very beginning of the building process.  Heffron Homes made each idea come to life.

-A custom display wall for treasures from many travels.

-A beautiful wainscoting feature wall in the Foyer/Great Room.

-A comfortable 3 season porch with weather protecting sliders.

-A large hidden walk in pantry.

-Zero entry from the garage into the house as well as to the Primary Shower.

-A generous sized Mudroom/Laundry.

-The shed roofs over the garage and bedroom window on the exterior

Q. If you could offer advice about building, what would it be?

A. Think about how you are going to be using the house, what are your priorities.  Explore options that would be helpful in this next stage of your life.  Research on Houzz, Pinterest, follow Interior Designers on Social Media that have a design aesthetic that speaks to you…. and share those ideas with your builder.
